There is a new video going around the Internet. It is a Public Service Announcement which shows the aftermath of an accident involving texting while driving. It is extremely graphic and violent, aimed at shocking the viewer. Below is the video in question. WARNING: Graphic. You have been warned.
As you can see, it is something not to be ignored. Some people are upset and believe it is to violent. This PSA originates in the UK, and is shown there. I am 100% confident nothing this violent would ever be shown in the US, as media censors here would never tolerate it.
After watching the video, I believe it is a good thing. Often as humans we do self destructive acts. We continue bad habits because the lack of consequence. In real live, however, consequences occur, and cannot be ignored. Texting while driving is a very stupid choice, which has and will continue to kill people. I see no problems with a texting while driving law, as an idiot texting can not only kill them self, but others. Freedom is great, but responsibility is also required.
This video should be shown to young adults during drivers education, and should be repeated often. Adults need to view this to, as being an adult does not end stupidly. Show this video at night, after 10:00 pm, in the form of a 30 second PSA. Yes, it is shocking, however so it having a loved one die due to the acts of a stupid driver.

ok to this video i thank all beging drivers ed should see this. but never on a 30s or 1m commercials, will maby with out the the bloody Graphics do to young childern. ps to Nathan Driskell nice wep site.
I think the video is good, as sometimes we have to see bad things occur to make sure we do not repeat them. Texting while driving is bad, but so is drinking and driving, and talking on a non-hands free phone. Anything that detracts people from the road is a bad thing. People need to become responsible and think before they act.
I think the video is good, as sometimes we have to see bad things occur to make sure we do not repeat them. ok lits say if a young child seen that on t.v. do u thank they might freack out extremly in ther minds?
That is why I would only show the PSA at night, or on stations that were not for little kids. I would show it at 10:00 pm, when many little kids are sleeping. It may freak out some kids, but I think it would be a good learning tool.
but the thing is even i cant see the full video. and im about 20 years old and i seen some stuff bad on t.v. but not like that. it will be ok on t.v. with out deep Graphic. but if people are going thou drivers ed thin thay should see it with all the Graphic couse ther planing on driving. ps hou ever made texing on the phones needs to have more brans in ther head. like some of my famaly, but in not going ther.
Yea, it is somewhat hard to watch, but then, that is the point. If one is to text and drive, this could occur, and it is not pretty. Showing this in drivers ed is a good idea.
