demorep Both Parties are the Same

You read the title correctly, both political parties in the US are the same; both do not give a damn about you. The main goal for each political party is to keep itself in power, or to gain more power. I imagine many from both sides are foaming at the mouth right now for being called the same as their rival, however from my perspective it is true. Both parties use the same tactics while they are out of power, as a means of gaining future power. The current health care debate proves that very well.

Let us go back in time, to two years ago. During this period, Democrats were doing everything they could to destroy Bush and his administration. The crazy elements of their party were calling Bush a Nazi, saying he was Hitler, and stating Bush blew up the Twin Towers in order to create a reason for war. These people would say anything they could to destroy Bush, no matter what facts were present. The Republicans were trying to defend Bush, and trying to get their programs passed, with little success, as the Democrats blocked everything they could to destroy Bush. Many crazy Democrats were wishing we would loose the war because they hated it, and did not seem to care if our troops died. This was because the Democratic party was more important then America, it was America, and everything else be dammed.

Let us now look at today. What do we see? We see the Republicans doing everything they can to stop the health care debate, as they do not want a debate. The Republicans do not care about reform; they want to destroy Obama and his Administration. We hear Obama being called a Nazi, how he will create death camps for the old and young, and how any sort of health care reform will kill America and turn it into Russia. The simple truth is the Republican party wants Obama to loose big in health care, so Republicans will gain seats in two years, and gain the white house back in 4. This is their true motivation; they do not care about any type of reform unless it is on their watch, so they gain the credit.

In the end, what does this mean? It means our political parties are the problem. Those on the extreme left view America as the Democratic party, and that is all that matters. Those on the crazy right see America as Republican, and nothing else matters. It means you, as a citizen, need to think for yourself. You need to form your opinions and not let those from either side tell you want to think. I am an Independent Conservative, who used to be a Republican until Bush drove me away. I no longer take the words of the Republicans as truth, as I have seen how they truly care about America. I am tired of these two parties, however I feel I am very much alone. It seems many side with one party so fully they become controlled by the party. Wake up, and think for yourself, before those who do the thinking for you drive you off a cliff.

Should the US do Away with the Two Party System?
