An interesting video has came out recently. It shows children at an Elementary school in Burlington, NJ being taught a song which praises President Obama. This video, shot on June 19, 2009, shows a small group of children singing a song with their teacher. This song is most likely a creation of the teacher or the school. Below is the video, where you can hear the song for yourself.
This is not something I agree with. No matter the president, there is no need to create a song for our school children to recite. If you want school children to sing, have them sing about this county, and the office of the president, not the current president. Many on the right are saying this is brain washing from the left to get the kids to favor a pro-Obama, pro left agenda, and from the video, I can see why they would make this statement.
If you think this video is ok, I have a question for you, and please, give an honest answer. Do you like the video because it is pro-Obama, or do you like the video due to free speech issues? What if four years ago school children were singing a song at school that was pro-Bush? Would you support it then? My gut says you would not, and hate the idea with a passion. I would as well, as we have better things to teach our school children than a song that praises a current president. Bush, Obama, or a future president, I do not think we should force an opinion on our school children. Let them see facts, and let them make up their own minds. If I was a parent and my kid was singing a song like this, I would be mad as hell.
I do have some questions. First, who wrote the song, and who’s idea was it to have the children sing it? Were the children given a choice to participate, and were their parents notified? Also, I worry this may be fake, as not may elementary schools are open in June. After seeing this video, I have more questions then answers.

Wow! very interesting blog ! in the way you are right.. we have better things to teach our school children than a song that praises a current politician. I agree with you.
